Dentro de los formatos de juego de Magic The Gathering, encontramos el formato:
En 21 de abril de 2022 se introdujo el formato “EXPLORER” o “EXPLORADOR”, es un modo de juego que incorpora una experiencia 100% digital que tiene como plataforma a MTG: Arena. La idea es que el formato digital sea igual al físico. Por lo tanto es un formato fiel a las cartas físicas. Al igual que el formato Historic no tiene rotación y presenta todas las cartas legales en el formato PIONEER que aparecen en Arena. Explorer se juega como un formato de mesa: las cartas no están sujetas a reequilibrio ni a suspensiones. Las cartas que solo existen digitalmente están excluidas de Explorer. Las expansiones de ESTANDAR se pueden utilizar en Explorer a partir del día de su lanzamiento digital.
Cantidad de jugadores: 2
Vidas: 20 vidas.
Duración de la partida: 20 minutos.
Partida: Suelen jugarse al mejor de 1 o al mejor de 3 partidas.
Reglas: Se aplican todas las reglas regulares para los formatos construidos.
Mazos: De 60 cartas mínimo. De máximo 250. En el mazo de 60 cartas Suelen llevar 19-21 tierras. Y un sideborad de 7 si la partida es al mejor de 1 o de 15 cartas si la partida es al mejor de 3. Las cartas pueden estar repetidas hasta 4 veces. Las tierras básicas no están incluidas en esta restricción.
